Harris Tweed Wool
5 May 2013
The wool used for weaving Harris Tweed cloth ( Clo Mor) are "Pure Virgin Wools", grown both on the Scottish mainland and the Islands of the Outer Hebrides. Every year, usually in early Summer, the Islanders come together to round up and shear the local sheep, as you can imagine this is not an easy task! Once this has been done the Wool is taken to the Island mill to be washed and dyed ready for the first process of creating and Hand- weaving the wonderful Harris Tweeds we use in our BlackHouse Own-label Bag Collection.
